The cuisine proves the most popular among those in London, the North East and Yorkshire and Humber, with scores of 60.44, 73.57 and 69.35 respectively.

In terms of dishes, it seems pasta is a firm favourite across the nation. Macaroni and cheese, ravioli, spaghetti and lasagna all scored highly among those surveyed.

Glaswegians are particularly partial to tasty curries, where “chicken tikka is the overall favourite dish” with “an outstanding score of 98.9 out of 100”.

The Welsh prefer different meals, with those in Cardiff opting for biryani and residents of Swansea keen for a delicious butter chicken.

  1. Fast food

It turns out that Brits are fast food fans, with this ranking as the third most popular choice in the UK. Convenient and quick – perhaps it’s no wonder that it’s the go-to for many people living busy, hectic lifestyles

Of all the countries in the UK, fast food proved most popular in England – sitting in second place with a score of 59.16. It’s the most loved in the South West, where burgers are the biggest crowd-pleaser.

Fast food didn’t rank in Scotland or Northern Ireland but did secure fourth place in Wales, with a score of 47.81. In Pembrokeshire, for example, pizza and burgers are the most sought-after dishes.

In conclusion

While picking the most popular cuisine might be top of your to-do list – remember to think about other important tasks before opening your doors. This includes choosing the best location, looking into specialist restaurant insurance, and following regulations like food hygiene standards.

Take some time to create a thorough business plan to set yourself up for long-term success. This should help you to clarify your idea, spot possible problems, set goals and measure your progress.
