Due to its multinational status, its cities look special, and the culture of Macedonia was shaped by Balkan, Albanian, and even Turkish influence. This former Yugoslav republic is easily accessible from almost anywhere in Europe. A flight from a neighboring country takes only 1.5-2 hours. But for many, the former Yugoslav republic is still an unexplored place. 

    To get there means to feel the incredible atmosphere of mixing cultures. Macedonia is comfortable almost at any time of the year. Summers here are hot and dry, and in winter the temperature rarely drops below -4 degrees Celsius. Therefore, exploring interesting places in Macedonia will not be a problem.     The Galičica National Park

    The national parks of Galicica and Pelister are very popular among tourists. In Galicica, for example, it is a pleasure to ride a bicycle and walk. Also, travelers are invited to see the caves in the Karst Valley. Going along the road connecting Ohrid and Prespa lakes, there is an opportunity to look at the city and nature from a height of about 1.5 km. In Pelister you can enjoy a leisurely vacation and admire nature. It is a must to visit the “mountain eyes” – crystal clear lakes. The recreational area in Pelister is something that incredibly attracts tourists. Numerous hotels and restaurants offer vacationers to combine two types of rest – leisurely and active, conquering the mountains and enjoying tranquility on cozy terraces.

    The Skopje Fortress (Skopje) 

    If you have never been to Macedonia before, you should visit the capital of the country Skopje, and the famous Skopje or Kale Fortress. If you ask the locals which city to visit first, any local or author confirmed would confirm that Skopje has to be Nr. 1 place in any tourist itinerary. The oldest settlement on its site dates back to the 4th century BC. Today there is a beautiful park inside the fortress, where you can have a great time and enjoy the natural beauty of North Macedonia. 

    The Skopje Aqueduct (Skopje) 

    Architecture lovers will appreciate this construction. After all, it is one of the most beautiful places in Macedonia. It is 16 meters high and 386 meters long. The 55 arches of the structure, which served as water supply, still look majestic. At the same time, being a vivid representative of Byzantine architecture.

    The Stone Bridge (Skopje) 

    The Stone Bridge, which crosses the Vardar River, is also one of the spectacular sights to visit in Skopje. This structure can be seen even on the flag of the country. It represents 12 solid blocks, which are placed on columns, forming the same number of arches. It is majestic and breathtaking.

    The Monastery of Saint Naum (Ohrid)

    The Monastery of Saint Naum is a place where believers must come. It is said that if you put your ear to the relics of St. Naum, you can hear his heart beating. But apart from that, the relics, according to the locals, heal from many diseases, including mental illnesses.

    Kokino Observatory (Kumanovo) 

    While sightseeing in Macedonia, it is impossible to miss Kokino. This is an ancient Hellenic observatory, which operated about 3.5 thousand years ago. The structure is partially preserved to this day. In particular, travelers can see stone markers, with the help of which ancient people tracked the movement of the moon and the sun.
